About the role
- Support in coordinating volunteer groups and projects, including onboarding new volunteers
- Support in establishing new volunteer groups
- Assist in organizing events, actions and campaigns
- Respond to inquiries about participation opportunities at SOS MEDITERRANEE
- Conceptualize and create social media content and online posts about the volunteer programme’s activities in collaboration with the communications team
- Support the expansion of the organisation’s network and respond to stakeholder inquiries
- Assist with general administrative tasks and provide additional support during special events or periods of increased workload
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a university programme, preferably in social sciences, humanities or communications
- Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy and alignment with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE
- Some experience in organising events and/or working with volunteers (through personal volunteering or, for example, an internship)
- Very good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- Affinity for social media
- Willingness to participate in evening appointments (and occasionally weekend appointments) in coordination with colleagues, e.g., for volunteer meetings and events
- Willingness to travel occasionally
