About the role
- Support in coordinating volunteer groups and projects, as well as onboarding new volunteers
- Support in establishing new volunteer groups
- Participate in organising events, activities and campaigns
- Respond to enquiries about participation opportunities at SOS MEDITERRANEE
- Conceptualise and create social media content and online posts about the volunteer programme’s activities in collaboration with the communications team
- Support the expansion of the organisation’s network and respond to stakeholder enquiries
- Assist with general administrative tasks and provide additional support for special events or during periods of increased workload
Requirements
- Currently enrolled student, preferably in social sciences, humanities or communication studies
- Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy, and identification with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE
- Some experience in organising events and/or working with volunteers (through personal volunteering or e.g. an internship)
- Excellent German and English language skills and communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Affinity for social media
- Willingness to attend evening (and occasionally weekend) appointments in coordination with colleagues, e.g. for volunteer meetings and events
- Willingness to travel occasionally
