About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead day-to-day execution of financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings engagements
- Manage scopes, workplans, staffing, timelines, budgets, and client communications
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements and drive projects to completion
- Review team analyses, workpapers, and deliverables
- Identify engagement risks, open items, and potential deal issues
- Conduct financial analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, recapitalizations, and other strategic transactions
- Assess profitability, cash flow, working capital, revenue quality, margins, expenses, and financial risks
- Prepare and review Quality of Earnings reports
- Identify and quantify normalized EBITDA adjustments, non-recurring items, management adjustments, and debt-like items
- Develop financial models, projections, forecasts, scenario analyses, EBITDA bridges, and working capital analyses
- Lead discussions with clients, management teams, private equity sponsors, lenders, attorneys, and transaction advisors
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and transaction stakeholders
- Collaborate with advisory, tax, audit, valuation, legal, and operations teams
- Supervise, coach, and develop associates, senior associates, and managers
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, proposals, pitch materials, business development, and practice growth
- Improve templates, tools, processes, and methodologies for financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings engagements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- 7+ years of relevant experience, including significant financial due diligence, Quality of Earnings, transaction advisory, public accounting advisory, investment banking, or related M&A experience
- 2+ years of experience supervising engagement teams, reviewing workpapers and deliverables, coaching team members, and managing project execution
- Strong understanding of GAAP, normalized EBITDA adjustments, net working capital, revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and transaction-related accounting considerations
- Exceptional Excel skills, including financial modeling, data manipulation, financial analysis, and large dataset management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to identify financial trends, risks, and anomalies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex financial information clearly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects with competing priorities
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and adapt to transaction-driven timelines, including occasional travel or extended hours during critical deal phases
- CPA preferred; CFA or MBA viewed favorably
- Broad industry exposure preferred
- Experience in public accounting, consulting, transaction advisory, investment banking, or financial advisory preferred
- Experience with middle-market businesses, private equity sponsors, strategic buyers, lenders, and founder-owned businesses preferred
- Familiarity with transaction advisory services, Quality of Earnings, valuation, M&A, purchase agreements, working capital targets, and debt-like items preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, accounting system exports, large datasets, data visualization tools, and financial analysis platforms preferred
- Experience with AI and other TAS tools is a plus
