About the role

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and consolidated tax returns
  • Review associates’ and interns’ tax returns, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and support growth
  • Perform and review quarterly and annual accounting procedures to prepare financial records for tax purposes
  • Identify organizational structures and related entities for tax implications and big-picture impacts
  • Ensure accurate and complete data for filings, identifying and communicating missing information
  • Calculate quarterly and annual estimated tax liabilities accurately
  • Conduct tax planning to identify opportunities for improvement and added value for clients
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues, providing guidance and recommendations
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, providing updates and addressing questions
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns to enhance team performance and skill development
  • Contribute to team efforts by assisting with projects and engaging in collaborative problem-solving
  • Stay updated on tax laws and best practices through ongoing training and independent learning
  • Manage engagements efficiently, meeting deadlines, particularly during high-demand periods
  • Perform other duties and displays flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership
  • Meet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation
  • CPA license or eligible
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • In-depth understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and document reviews
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Analytical skills to solve complex tax issues and understand broader financial implications
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities to supervise and develop junior staff
  • Full-time commitment and flexibility to work beyond regular hours to meet team deadlines
