About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide anesthesia care for cardiac and general surgical procedures
  • Provide anesthesia for complex cardiac procedures, including CABG, valve repair and replacement, structural heart procedures, endovascular procedures, EVAR, peripheral vascular interventions, and other complex cardiovascular procedures
  • Provide anesthesia for diverse general surgical specialties
  • Utilize perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) during cardiac cases
  • Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a busy tertiary care environment
  • Document anesthesia care according to Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Somnia standards
  • Participate in either a general call rotation of 48 calls per year, averaging one in-house call per week with a CRNA, or a non-call-taking Monday–Friday schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • TEE certification required
  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for Tennessee medical licensure
  • DEA Registration
  • BLS and ACLS Certification
  • Demonstrated experience providing anesthesia for open-heart and structural heart procedures
  • Extensive experience providing anesthesia for cardiac and general surgical procedures
  • Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship preferred but not required
  • No visa sponsorship available
