About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide anesthesia care for cardiac and general surgical procedures
Utilize perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) during cardiac cases
Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary care teams
Deliver high-quality patient care in a busy tertiary care environment
Document anesthesia care according to Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Somnia standards
Provide care for CABG, valve repair and replacement, structural heart, endovascular, peripheral vascular, and other complex cardiovascular procedures
Provide anesthesia for diverse general surgical specialties
Participate in general call rotation of 48 calls per year, averaging one in-house call per week with a CRNA, or choose a non-call-taking Monday–Friday schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need

MD or DO degree
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Eligible for Tennessee Medical Licensure
DEA Registration
BLS and ACLS Certification
TEE Certification required
Demonstrated experience providing anesthesia for open-heart and structural heart procedures
Extensive experience providing anesthesia for cardiac and general surgical procedures
Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship preferred but not required
