About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain scalable AWS-based data platform services, including EMR, S3, Glue, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, using automated cloud deployment pipelines
Build, monitor, and optimize high-performance data pipelines using modern big data frameworks
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams
Establish and promote data engineering best practices, including data modeling standards, pipeline design, and cost-efficient data usage
Partner with senior technical leaders, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable AWS-based data solutions
Architect and implement advanced data solutions for data integration, transformation, governance, and application enablement
Collaborate with domain teams to design physical data models and data mappings aligned with business and healthcare requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution
8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based data platforms on AWS
Extensive experience implementing big data technologies and modern Data Lakehouse architectures on AWS
Deep expertise in AWS services including EMR, Glue, S3, RDS, and Aurora PostgreSQL
Strong experience building and automating scalable data pipelines
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Scala, and advanced SQL for large-scale data processing
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
Experience with serverless technologies including AWS Lambda
