About the role
- Responsible for developing, implementing, directing and overseeing programs to understand the science of wound healing, infection prevention, and other areas of strategic interest to Solventum
- Work with colleagues to evaluate and develop emerging technologies for use in future products
- Provide technical input and allocate proper resources and skill sets to provide appropriate scientific/engineering/technical leadership and support (study design, implementation and reporting) for innovation, concept, product development and sustaining efforts
- Work with internal functions and external entities worldwide, as appropriate, to ensure success of projects
- Ensure dissemination of research internally and externally, as appropriate, to maintain and grow scientific reputation and credibility
- Perform administrative and financial oversight tasks related to management of projects and groups
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, operational rigor, and continuous improvement, while maintaining compliance with medical device regulatory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological sciences or related technical discipline, or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of experience in medical device technology or related industry, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success developing and executing evidence strategies for multiple medical devices, drugs and/or drug/device combinations
- Demonstrated success managing complex medical device research and development projects and cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage and to prioritize multiple competing tasks for team
- Experience condensing complex requirements into specific and measurable test objectives
- Experience in experimental design and analysis of bench, in vitro and preclinical studies
- Strong business acumen, with experience in budgeting, resource planning, project and portfolio management
- Proven ability to drive innovation, manage change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
