About the role
- Design and implement scalable, efficient, and fault‑tolerant data operations across structured and unstructured data systems.
- Develop, build, and maintain AWS data platform services including S3, RDS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data pipelines.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines for multi‑tenant database schema changes, ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data streams.
- Partner with senior technical leads, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable cloud-based data solutions using AWS services.
- Champion data engineering best practices, driving standards for data quality, pipeline reliability, database design, and consumption efficiency.
- Mentor and guide internal engineering teams on pipeline development, database standards, and effective data usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of strong experience deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud data platforms.
- Proven experience building automation for build, test, and deployment workflows for data pipelines.
- Expertise in Python, PySpark, Terraform, CloudFormation and advanced SQL techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience automating workflows in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed computing using AWS tools such as EMR, Glue, Databricks, and data Lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with GraphQL for API-based data services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice‑based Data API development.
- Expertise in stream processing technologies such as Amazon Kinesis, Apache Spark, Storm, or Kafka.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Professional certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud‑native specialties.
