About the role

  • Design and implement scalable, efficient, and fault‑tolerant data operations across structured and unstructured data systems.
  • Develop, build, and maintain AWS data platform services including S3, RDS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data pipelines.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines for multi‑tenant database schema changes, ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data streams.
  • Partner with senior technical leads, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable cloud-based data solutions using AWS services.
  • Champion data engineering best practices, driving standards for data quality, pipeline reliability, database design, and consumption efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide internal engineering teams on pipeline development, database standards, and effective data usage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of strong experience deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud data platforms.
  • Proven experience building automation for build, test, and deployment workflows for data pipelines.
  • Expertise in Python, PySpark, Terraform, CloudFormation and advanced SQL techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience automating workflows in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed computing using AWS tools such as EMR, Glue, Databricks, and data Lakehouse architectures.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL for API-based data services.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice‑based Data API development.
  • Expertise in stream processing technologies such as Amazon Kinesis, Apache Spark, Storm, or Kafka.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
  • Professional certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud‑native specialties.
