About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python
- Build scalable solutions for processing, integrating and transforming large datasets
- Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate with engineers on system design, data modelling and platform improvements
- Improve software quality through code reviews, automated testing and mentoring less experienced developers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of commercial experience with Python development
- Strong experience building backend applications and REST APIs
- Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience building data-intensive applications or working with large-scale data processing
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and clean code principles
- Experience with Databricks or modern data platforms (advantage)
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems (advantage)
- Comfortable working in Linux-based development environments (advantage)
