About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work closely with the Machine Operator under their guidance and direction to learn essential machine operation skills
Support Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace
Apply customer specifications to machine operation to ensure finished products meet customer requirements
Program and monitor computerized operating panels, calculate core size, roll diameters, required footage, and perforation
Set up, operate, and adjust the rewinder and downstream equipment to meet production quotas
Program the log saw, clamp products in the log saw, and verify cut accuracy, making adjustments as needed
Perform hourly quality checks, submit daily quality reports to the QA department, and assist with product change-overs
Collaborate with Rapid Changeover Technicians (RCO Techs) for change-overs and adjustments
Adjust embossing units and core chucks as required
Maintain open communication with the quality, maintenance, and supervision teams
Demonstrate leadership skills consistently
Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to lean initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Basic computer skills
Prior experience preferred, but not necessarily required in unique circumstances
Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and quality manuals
Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
