About the role

  • As an individual contributor, you are responsible for redesigning our learning platform for web and mobile — with a focus on a simple, intuitive, and motivating user experience optimally tailored to children aged 6 to 14.
  • You report directly to our VP of Content & Product Experience.
  • You design, together with peers from Product, Education and Tech, adaptive and AI-supported learning features and user flows that are effective and that solve real student problems in a fun way.
  • You work on a project basis with other designers and creatives and regularly coordinate with our Team Lead Illustration and Design.

Requirements

  • Product & UX Design: Several years of experience designing digital products (web and mobile) with responsibility for UX concepts, user flows and interface design.
  • Experience working closely with product managers, engineers and stakeholders during discovery and delivery phases, and the ability to clearly justify and communicate design decisions.
  • Feature and product concept thinking: Experience developing new product features from problem definition through user journeys and interaction concepts to testable/validated prototypes.
  • Experience exploring solution spaces together with product management, developing multiple concept approaches and evaluating them in a structured way.
  • Ability to simplify complex products: Proven ability to translate complex platforms or feature sets into clear, intuitive and easy-to-understand user experiences.
  • Strong sense for information architecture, feature structuring and prioritizing user needs.
  • Strong engagement and interaction design: Experience designing interactive and motivating user experiences that guide users, activate them and drive long-term retention.
  • Strong skills in UX conception, wireframing, high-fidelity design and prototyping for developing and validating solutions.
  • Languages: Fluent English required; German skills are a plus.
  • Tools: Experience with modern design and prototyping tools (especially Figma).
  • Optional: Experience with personalized or AI-supported interfaces, experience with platform or product redesigns, experience with learning, children’s or consumer products, experience with gamification or motivation design.
Benefits
  • Flexible work: With flexible working hours and our remote-first model (including the option to work from another EU country for up to 180 days per year) you can shape your day to suit your needs.
  • Support for mobile working: You receive up to €100 every two years as a subsidy for your home office equipment to optimize your remote setup. Basic technical equipment such as laptop, headset and monitor are provided by us.
  • Mobile & independent: With subsidies for public transport tickets or a Swapfiets subscription you stay flexible—whether in Berlin or other cities.
  • Community & events: Team spirit matters to us! Look forward to regular events, both digital and in-person in Berlin.
  • Volunteer & extra days off: Two additional days off per year for civic engagement—plus days off on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
  • Fitness & mental health: Stay active with an Urban Sports Club or gym membership. The Bloom platform is available free of charge for your mental health.
  • Attractive discounts: Benefit from discounts via FutureBens and Corporate Benefits, as well as family & friends discounts on our learning offerings.
  • Flexible additional benefits: With the givve benefits card you can use tax-free extras flexibly in your region.
