About the role
- Provide strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for the institution's accessibility initiatives
- Foster digital and physical accessibility compliance initiatives across the university
- Develop and lead the execution of compliance plans, projects, processes
- Act as a liaison for the department to both internal and external constituencies
- Chair or lead accessibility-related committees and working groups
- Provide training and policy education for faculty and staff
- Draft and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
- Responsible for the disability grievance procedure and serve as the final decision-maker for related appeals
- Provide secondary support to Title IX and equity functions of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance
- Maintain engagement with campus partners and travel to campus periodically
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience of ADA/504 compliance in the higher education or similar setting
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Familiarity with digital accessibility principles and tools (e.g., WCAG standards, accessible document and web practices)
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse population
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to understand the larger organizational context
- Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative
