About the role

  • Provide strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for the institution's accessibility initiatives
  • Foster digital and physical accessibility compliance initiatives across the university
  • Develop and lead the execution of compliance plans, projects, processes
  • Act as a liaison for the department to both internal and external constituencies
  • Chair or lead accessibility-related committees and working groups
  • Provide training and policy education for faculty and staff
  • Draft and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
  • Responsible for the disability grievance procedure and serve as the final decision-maker for related appeals
  • Provide secondary support to Title IX and equity functions of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance
  • Maintain engagement with campus partners and travel to campus periodically

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience of ADA/504 compliance in the higher education or similar setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility principles and tools (e.g., WCAG standards, accessible document and web practices)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse population
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to understand the larger organizational context
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative
