About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create and refine high-performance mobile apps
Build stable, smoothly running mobile products
Design, architect, and implement well-tested Objective-C software powering Snapchat camera experiences
Conceptualize, develop, and launch new features
Evaluate technical tradeoffs
Collaborate with the Design team on UI and infrastructure practices
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality
Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while maintaining code correctness, security, and production-ready quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience, or a Master’s degree plus 5+ years of post-graduate software development experience, or a PhD plus 2+ years of post-graduate software development experience
Experience with iOS application development
Proven understanding of the Objective-C Runtime and underlying processes
Knowledge of OS internals, compilers, and optimization for low-power mobile systems
Proficiency with multithreading and iOS performance optimization techniques
Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices
Proficiency in, or strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools while auditing generated output for architectural integrity, performance, and security
Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools
Preferred: Experience with Objective-C and iOS
Preferred: Experience with Swift
Preferred: Experience with C/C++
Preferred: Experience with OpenGL or Metal
