About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop electrical construction documents for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems on commercial, residential, laboratory, and institutional projects
Perform service, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations
Perform light level point-to-point calculations
Coordinate designs with all disciplines
Develop construction details
Create and modify specifications tailored for each project
Attend meetings with utility companies, contractors, and building department officials
Participate in construction administration activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
EIT registration or Professional Engineer licensure preferred
Experience with design software and productivity tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Knowledge of applicable building and electrical codes (e.g. NFPA, NEC, IBC, IECC)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
