About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop electrical construction documents for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems on commercial, residential, laboratory, and institutional projects
- Perform service, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations
- Perform light level point-to-point calculations
- Coordinate designs with all disciplines
- Develop construction details
- Create and modify specifications tailored for each project
- Attend meetings with utility companies, contractors, and building department officials
- Participate in construction administration activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- EIT registration or Professional Engineer licensure preferred
- Experience with design software and productivity tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of applicable building and electrical codes (e.g. NFPA, NEC, IBC, IECC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
