About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and take professional ownership of projects in a technical capacity
Perform engineering work for industrial and mining projects
Direct project and technical workflows under the supervision of a registered principal engineer
Mentor junior staff
Deliver designs, analyses, specifications, calculations, and technical reports for mining projects
Visit project sites for data collection and monitoring, investigations, and construction inspection services
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and specialty engineering software to undertake designs and computations
Write memos and calculation packages documenting work performed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, scientists, and professional staff
Meet with clients and regulators to understand project needs and goals

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Working knowledge of engineering software, including Civil Design & Grading (Civil 3D)
Depending on area of specialization, specialty software knowledge: Hydrology & Hydraulics (HEC HMS, HEC RAS) or Geotechnical Design (GeoStudio, Rocscience)
Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel by car and airplane, including travel for domestic projects
M.Sc. preferred
Willingness to travel for international projects preferred
Strong attention to detail and analytical and judgment capabilities
Ability to learn new engineering topics and software quickly
Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work with little oversight and be a self-starter
Ability to think and plan ahead
Initiative to take on assigned and additional tasks
