About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage all components of claim handling for the Management Liability line of business
Independently review submitted materials and policy documents, perform complete coverage analysis, and prepare coverage determination correspondence
Review and provide direction on reserve and settlement authority, where required, on complex, specialized claims
Support business partners through communication about specific claims, identification of claim trends, input on development, and marketing support
Monitor claim quality and customer feedback to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer satisfaction and achievement of corporate objectives
Operate within company guidelines and authority levels in the settlement of claims
Make appropriate decisions on coverage and strategic settlement of claims
Review and assign new files as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors degree required
JD highly recommended
Minimum of 7 years D&O claims (public and private company) experience or related education/experience at a coverage firm
Must possess high level skills and extensive claims technical knowledge including D&O, EPL, and Financial Institution products and industry
Ability to successfully work autonomously and take initiative
Extensive knowledge of legal principles, and policy interpretation
Prior D&O coverage experience required
Must possess expert analytical, decision making, negotiation, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and teamwork skills
Must demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated strategic thinking capabilities.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office suite and other Claims tracking tools.
