About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide timely, efficient, and accurate support to Underwriting with respect to issuing policies
Create policy documents which represent the insurance transaction bound by the underwriter
Ensure statistical coding and policy issuance complies with regulatory requirements
Maintain electronic and/or physical underwriting file
Solicit renewal transactions
Provide operational support for the product line’s underwriters
Work with the unit underwriters to bind, book, and issue policies
Review policies for accuracy and regulatory standards
Input policy and underwriting data in appropriate systems
Make direct contact with brokers and their assistants

Requirements

What you’ll need

Workers Compensation experience required
Prior industry and business segment experience including Property, General Liability and Commercial Auto is a plus
Applied knowledge of underwriting fundamentals and standard industry practices
Understanding of basic financial principles and processes
Understanding of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI)
Oral and written communication skills
Organizational and planning skills
Ability to work independently, exercising critical thinking skills
Ability to interact with a wide variety of people daily, in person, via telephone and email
Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail are essential
Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word)
