About the role
- Design and Maintain Enterprise Data Standards – support the design and ongoing evolution of Sky’s Data Governance and Data & Information Management frameworks and operating models spanning but not limited to Data Ownership, Data Quality, Data Cataloguing, Metadata & Data Lineage etc.
- Deliver Data Management Controls – you will be central to driving our Data Excellence ‘engine room’ responsible for supporting Data and System Owners and relevant SMEs to adopt and embed AI-Ready data & information management controls.
- Develop Ownership Models and Reporting – support development of data ownership models and frameworks for organising data domains to effectively embed data governance and data management initiatives by data role holders i.e. Data Owners and System Owners.
- Support development of monitoring and reporting capabilities to be used by data role holders to track and report effectiveness of data and information management controls.
- Support on Embedding of Data Controls - as a key part of the ‘engine room’ within the Data & Information Management practice, you will support the relevant business and technical SMEs to implement AI-Ready data & information management controls. You will ensure controls are implemented across the end-to-end data & information management lifecycle ensuring adherence to best practice.
- Drive Best Practice Adoption - partner with architecture, engineering and technology colleagues to advocate for good data and information management practices.
- Support the education of data colleagues, fostering the adoption of strategic data management tooling and frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – you will be expected to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and SMEs across Sky Data, Business, Legal and Group Technology teams whilst championing best practice for embedding data controls.
Requirements
- Extensive and demonstrable expertise in data management and data governance including but not limited to data ownership, data quality, metadata management, data lineage and data cataloguing
- Proficiency with data management and data governance technologies and tooling and willingness to learn AI-driven data management or governance tooling
- Working knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and data lineage concepts along with a strong understanding of data governance frameworks and processes
- Strong interest in staying up to date with trends across data management and data governance within the media and other industries as well as the wider tech landscape
- Meticulous attention to detail in supporting the implementation of data management policies and frameworks
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, supporting the development and roll-out of data management strategies
