About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As a Principal System Analyst in Quantitative Research and Investments Technology, you blend investment management and technical expertise with a passion for delivering results.
- You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the team mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.
- In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team to execute on specific product features.
- You will ensure alignment on the 'what' and 'when' work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.
- You will enable team members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success.
- You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.
- Defining, refining, and communicating the teams’ mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment.
- Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
- Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria
- Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
- Measuring performance against established objectives that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
- Collaborating and coordinating with Technical Leads and Project Managers to establish team capacity and capability and enabling team member growth, development, and learning.
- Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
- Scaled up ideas which would further business objectives and capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field; CFA / CFP designation or post-graduate degree in finance or a related field a plus
- 6 plus years of proven experience in end-to-end technology solution delivery
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.
- Financial services experience, preferred.
- Jira and Jira Align experience preferred.
- Experience in Asset Management industry is preferred.
- Take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
- Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate these
- Have deep understanding of the industry landscape around Quant research space with focus on creative solutioning approach to build quantitative investing platforms
- Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams
- Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working
- Establish and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work multi-functionally across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach
- Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
- Committed to developing a balance of technology and non-technology skills to fully appreciate the broad needs of our customers
- Proven experience with minimum viable product definition and product backlog management
