About the role

  • Design and development of automation, AI, and robotics solutions within an EU-funded research environment
  • Identify opportunities to scale manual laboratory and administrative processes through technology
  • Provide technical support for complex grant applications (Horizon Europe, EU grants)
  • Ensure compliance and establish automated reporting structures
  • Design concrete use cases for AI and robotics solutions supported by agentic AI for process control
  • Manage communication at national and EU level between scientists, engineers, IT specialists, and funding bodies
  • Actively build and maintain strategic partnerships with research institutes, universities, and the AI and robotics industry

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in automation projects (RPA) and implementing AI solutions
  • Proficient with Python, SQL, Power BI and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Experience with LLMs for processing scientific data is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of EU funding mechanisms (Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, research networks) and the related application processes
  • Knowledge or experience with ATMP regulations (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) as well as GxP and validation requirements
  • Ideally experience with in-silico design and simulation, and an understanding of precision robotics and their applications in research projects
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a comparable field
  • Reliable, independent working style and the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly
