About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • help design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments
  • work alongside engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to develop technology that enables faster, safer decision-making for critical operations
  • Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support secure, scalable, and efficient delivery
  • Develop and maintain automation tooling and Infrastructure ‑ as ‑ Code solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Champion automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across environments
  • Support the delivery, upgrade, and maintenance of core platforms, systems, and services
  • Participate in the architecture and design of new deployments, services, and platform features
  • Create proof ‑ of ‑ concepts for new technologies and guide them through to production readiness
  • Produce high ‑ quality documentation, diagrams, and design artefacts
  • Work closely with development, QA, operations, and support teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery
  • Provide guidance on platform usage, best practices, and DevOps principles
  • Mentor more junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Apply secure ‑ by ‑ design principles throughout the platform lifecycle
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and contribute to hardening activities
  • Ensure non ‑ functional requirements (security, scalability, maintainability) are met

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Working in Agile or DevOps ‑ Oriented environments
  • Strong documentation skills (e.g., Confluence, Sharepoint)
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Linux and/or Windows administration
  • Scripting and development skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, DSC, ARM templates)
  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman)
  • Git workflows, repository management, and configuration ‑ as ‑ code practices
  • Scripting languages such as Bash, Python, PowerShell, or PHP.
