Key responsibilities & impact

Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations
Assumes responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates tasks to various tax preparers
Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts
Assumes tax preparation responsibility for more complex business returns
Manages governmental tax examinations and may represent clients before taxing authorities
Supervises tax staff and provides on-the-job training

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least five (5) years' experience in public accounting
At least two (2) years' experience representing clients before taxing authorities
Minimum of one (1) year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers
Bachelor's degree in accounting required, master's degree in taxation preferred
Either hold a current and valid CPA license or be working toward obtaining the license
Minimum of forty hours of continuing education required each year to maintain skills
