About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Travel to offshore platforms, drilling rigs, vessels, marine facilities, shipyards, industrial plants, and other onshore and offshore customer locations.
  • Fabricate and crimp hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies in the field.
  • Remove and replace worn, damaged, leaking, or failed hoses, fittings, adapters, couplings, and related components.
  • Inspect hose assemblies for abrasion, corrosion, improper routing, excessive bending, deterioration, leakage, and other conditions that could lead to failure.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and industrial equipment to determine the source of hose, fitting, connection, or fluid-transfer problems.
  • Perform on-site field hydrostatic testing of industrial hoses, hose assemblies, piping systems, and related components.
  • Complete pressure-test records, inspection reports, test certificates, equipment logs, photographs, and other required documentation.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks as required by company procedures or customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate service records, material usage, hose-registration information, customer signatures, photographs, and job documentation.
  • Safely operate company vehicles, mobile service equipment, hand tools, power tools, hose saws, crimpers, hydrostatic test pumps, calibrated gauges, and material-handling equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, offshore supervisors, vessel crews, dispatch personnel, and internal operations teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests after normal business hours.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, industrial-maintenance, heavy-equipment, marine, oil-and-gas, millwright, automotive, diesel, or related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to work with tools, machinery, fittings, mechanical connections, and pressurized systems.
  • Ability to read tape measures, pressure ratings, hose laylines, fitting specifications, work orders, equipment manuals, test procedures, and basic technical drawings.
  • Ability to identify common hose types, fittings, adapters, threads, flanges, and connection styles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written hydrostatic-testing procedures and understand the hazards associated with stored pressure.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations while following established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional customer-service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable under company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, background screening, and customer-required screenings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, or TWIC.
  • Ability to pass and maintain an offshore medical and physical-fitness clearance.
  • Ability to travel extensively and report for assignments with limited notice.
  • Ability to work on call, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
  • Ability to remain offshore or away from home for multiple consecutive days.
  • Ability to travel by crew boat, supply vessel, and other approved marine transportation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in demanding environments.
