About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide aged care clients with home help services, including general housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • Provide personal care services, including getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed
  • Assist clients to take medications
  • Assist with mobility and therapy goals
  • Provide complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • Provide social and emotional support
  • Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • Help family carers take a break or attend to other activities
  • Work independently, find solutions to everyday problems, and ask the manager for help when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 months’ experience in a similar professional role
  • Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Must complete a Statutory Declaration before commencement
  • Must complete a National Police check before commencement
  • Must complete a Working Rights check before commencement
  • Must complete a pre-employment functional assessment before commencement
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
