About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide aged care clients with home help services
- Perform general housekeeping and make beds
- Clean, mop and vacuum floors
- Wash, fold and iron laundry
- Prepare meals and complete grocery shopping
- Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities
- Help family carers take a break or attend to other activities
- Work independently, solve everyday problems and consult a manager when needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Enjoy variety in the day
- Passion for providing excellent service
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and families
- Care about helping aged community members live independently at home
- Ability to remain composed when clients have difficult days or when delays occur
- Comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems
- Know when to ask a manager for help
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Interest in community care or aged care
- Experience preferred but not essential
- Prior to commencement: Statutory Declaration, National Police check, Working Rights check and pre-employment functional assessment
