About the role

  • Design, build, and maintain new services and features using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and frontend team to define priorities and roadmap
  • Architect scalable systems that handle large datasets and high request volumes
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across database, application, and infrastructure layers
  • Implement robust background job processing using Sidekiq and Redis
  • Write automated tests (RSpec, Jest) to ensure reliability and maintainability
  • Build and integrate with modern front-end frameworks (React or Vue.js) for Full-Stack roles
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and team planning sessions
  • Balance technical excellence with timely delivery

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional development experience
  • 5+ years building and maintaining production Rails applications
  • Proven track record designing systems for scale, performance, and reliability
  • Strong database skills with PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Experience with background job frameworks (Sidekiq, Resque)
  • Solid understanding of modern architectural patterns (service-oriented architecture, event sourcing)
  • Working knowledge of modern JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar)
  • Experience working asynchronously in fully remote teams
  • A history of multi-year tenure in recent roles
