Key responsibilities & impact

Collaboration with Research Team
Work with researchers to: Identify texts and excerpts for translation, Estimate translation timelines and efforts, Incorporate feedback from Subject Matter Experts and Advisors, Support the development of Factsheets on Gurus, key figures, and historical events; Analytical papers and articles.
Translation of Primary Sources
Translate texts from the 1400s to the 1800s from Braj OR Persian into clear, accurate, and accessible English.
Work on materials, including but not limited to: Early Sikh literature, Court poetry, manuscripts, and historical narratives
Ensure translations preserve: Linguistic nuance and poetic structure where relevant, Historical and cultural context, Gurmat perspective on Sikh history, Flag ambiguous or contested passages and collaborate on interpretation, Ensure adherence to project-wide translation standards, maintain consistency in terminology across texts and time periods.
