About the role
- Lead and manage a team of Android engineers and QA building applications for Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
- Drive technical architecture, system design, and best practices for performance, security, and automotive-grade reliability
- Ensure seamless integration with embedded systems, car hardware APIs, and OEM standards
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of clean, testable, and scalable code
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and regular status reporting
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Android development
- 2+ years with Android Automotive OS
- Proven experience leading Engineering teams or technical projects
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack, and Android app architecture (MVVM, Hilt/Koin)
- Experience with voice assistants or audio processing
- Familiarity with AAOS-specific APIs, CarApp library, AudioManager, and in-car UX constraints
- Proven experience in aligning stakeholders
- Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
- Background in real-time audio streaming and WebSocket APIs
- Understanding of automotive safety, certification, or regulatory compliance
