About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable backend systems and services using C# (.NET)
  • Lead API development - including thorough documentation, API gateways and best practices
  • Integrate and optimize RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices
  • Design for observability, utilising tools like Dynatrace and other monitoring solutions
  • Ensure auditability and traceability across the system
  • Collaborate within an agile, product-focused engineering team, working closely with product owners, designers and engineers
  • Contribute to integrating AI features and agentic systems (including MCP principles)
  • Participate in architectural discussions and drive backend scalability and maintainability
  • Promote and implement engineering best practices, accessibility, and continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and share insights with the team
  • Drive system reliability, security, and objectives through high-quality, maintainable code

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong product engineering mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into robust backend solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in backend system and API development with C# and .NET
  • Hands-on experience building, documenting, and supporting APIs and API gateways
  • Proficiency with observability tools (such as Dynatrace), audit, and traceability standards
  • Knowledge of and experience with AI development, agentic architectures, or MCP is highly advantageous
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
  • Proven commitment to code quality, testing, security, and reliable delivery
  • Passion for learning, reading, and contributing to personal or open-source
