About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented clinical environment
  • Perform advanced PET/CT imaging procedures, including brain imaging and neurologic research protocols supporting innovative clinical studies
  • Utilize specialty PET radiotracers such as PSMA, Ga-68 NetSpot, and Illuccix
  • Travel to Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital in Wells according to the stated shift schedule
  • Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety
  • Inform patients of all aspects of their exam at their level of understanding
  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radioactive isotope concentrations
  • Perform all hot lab responsibilities
  • Ensure patients are cleared of contraindications and hazards
  • Accurately position patients and ensure their comfort
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during exams
  • Complete all forms pertaining to patient exams
  • Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program
  • Provide and issue films when appropriate
  • Forward PET-related data to the radiologist upon completion of exams
  • Refilm cases as time allows
  • Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise
  • Clean and resupply equipment and rooms as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
  • Must be certified in CPR
  • Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB
  • A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required
  • Must be proficient in starting IVs
  • Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
  • Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO
