About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented clinical environment
Perform advanced PET/CT imaging procedures, including brain imaging and neurologic research protocols supporting innovative clinical studies
Utilize specialty PET radiotracers such as PSMA, Ga-68 NetSpot, and Illuccix
Travel to Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital in Wells according to the stated shift schedule
Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety
Inform patients of all aspects of their exam at their level of understanding
Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radioactive isotope concentrations
Perform all hot lab responsibilities
Ensure patients are cleared of contraindications and hazards
Accurately position patients and ensure their comfort
Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during exams
Complete all forms pertaining to patient exams
Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program
Provide and issue films when appropriate
Forward PET-related data to the radiologist upon completion of exams
Refilm cases as time allows
Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise
Clean and resupply equipment and rooms as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
Must be certified in CPR
Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB
A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required
Excellent interpersonal skills are required
Must be proficient in starting IVs
Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties
Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO
