About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety
- Follow NRC, state regulatory agency, and JCAHO rules and regulations
- Explain all aspects of examinations to patients at an appropriate level of understanding
- Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes
- Perform hot lab responsibilities
- Clear patients of contraindications and hazards
- Position patients accurately and ensure their comfort
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during examinations
- Complete examination-related forms and enter patient data into the Tech Data Entry program
- Provide and issue films when appropriate
- Forward PET-related data to the radiologist after examinations
- Refilm cases as time allows
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise
- Clean and resupply equipment and rooms as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed
- Must be certified in CPR
- Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB
- Minimum of one year of prior nuclear medicine experience required
- Excellent interpersonal skills required
- Proficient in starting IVs
- Able to sit and use a computer for extended periods
- Able to assist patients with mobility difficulties
- Able to push, pull, and lift at least 25 pounds
