About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct R&D and contribute to generating relevant data for algorithm training
  • Lead analysis of large and complex datasets, including clinical and diagnostic assay reference data
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to inform diagnostic product development
  • Train, develop, and refine algorithms and predictive models for diagnosis, risk prediction, and treatment response prediction
  • Transfer algorithms and communicate with professional application software developers while maintaining algorithm integrity and performance
  • Identify and engineer relevant features from raw data
  • Preprocess data, select informative features, and optimize feature representations
  • Validate models using cross-validation, bootstrapping, and holdout validation
  • Assess accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and AUC
  • Create informative visualizations to communicate results and insights to stakeholders
  • Stay current with data science methodologies, techniques, and tools relevant to in-vitro diagnostics
  • Participate in professional development activities such as training programs, conferences, and workshops

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar function
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL
  • Ability to write efficient code for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling
  • Familiarity with data management and preprocessing, including data cleaning, transformation, and normalization
  • Basic understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction
  • Ability to create clear data visualizations using Matplotlib, Seaborn, or ggplot2
  • Fluency in English
  • Openness to learning experimental work in a laboratory environment with bacteria
  • Ability to transfer algorithms and communicate with professional application software developers
  • Experience with scikit-learn or TensorFlow is beneficial
  • Experience handling large-scale datasets and databases is advantageous
  • Familiarity with in-vitro diagnostics, biomarkers, assay technologies, and clinical applications is preferred
  • Understanding of basic microbiology and medical terminology is advantageous
  • Good communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Passion for working in a young company environment
