About the role
- Support NUWCDIVNPT trainer development and Serco's submarine simulation, training and analysis products for the US Navy
- Design, install, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot large-scale system development infrastructure supporting software developers, integrators, and system engineers
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Linux systems, both natively and within virtual machines
- Setup and maintain configuration management and build tools like Git, ClearCase and Gradle
- Design and develop infrastructure solutions to support DevOps CI/CD deployments
- Monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify issues with installation and performance
- Troubleshoot IT systems to diagnose and implement solutions
- Develop and employ Disaster Recovery Plans and Solutions
- Work with Intel-based servers, Linux cluster configurations and virtualization architectures including ProxMox and Red Hat KVM
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other related fields
- 5 years experience (with Bachelor's degree)
- Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience OR 9 years in lieu of degree
- 9 years experience in lieu of degree
- Active Secret Security Clearance / ability to maintain/transfer Secret clearance
- Current IAT Level I Certifications
- Experience with bash scripting
- Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably ProxMox and Red Hat KVM (e.g., Red Hat KVM, VMware, libvirt/virsh)
- Experience with setup and maintenance of configuration management tools such as Git and ClearCase
- Experience with build tools such as Gradle
- Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)
- US Citizenship
- Ability to work on site at Middletown RI
- Additional desired: Experience with maintaining closed enclave local area networks
- Additional desired: Experience maintain software development infrastructure
- Additional desired: Network+, Security+, Linux+
- Additional desired: Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration development and deployment
- Additional desired: Experience with System Build Automation Tools (Ansible, Linux kickstart, Puppet, Windows Deployment Server (WDS))
- Additional desired: Computer/Electronics Hardware knowledge
- Additional desired: Configuration management experience with both centralized and distributed version control systems (e.g., SVN and Git)
