About the role
- Assist in the development of PA Program guidance documents and tools when needed
- Create/provide training aids, instructor guides, student manuals, and web-based training for PA course instruction
- Provide technical, technical editing, graphic development, and formatting for PA documents
- Deployment based support to state, tribal, territorial local governments, and some private non-profits
- Support FEMA’s mission by helping those effected by man-made and natural disasters
Requirements
- 5 years minimum of prior Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) experience
- A bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; OR a graduate level degree or professional registration with 2 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; OR 10 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or in field of expertise (without a degree; must have high school diploma or GED)
- Experience with technical writing
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in recovery arena
- The ability to obtain and maintain FEMA Public Trust
- A United States citizenship
- The ability to maintain FEMA specific trainings
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to deploy to any location in zone 2 with a 24–48-hour notice after task order award
- The ability to go on 6–12-month deployments at a minimum
- Experience and comfortability using a smart phone
- The ability to work independently, in a team environment and under stressful conditions with tight deadlines
