Provide calibration services for the Research Triangle Park (RTP) Metrology Laboratory under the Office of Research and Development’s Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling (CEMM)
Calibrate instruments across temperature, humidity, pressure, gas flow rate, mass, electronics, volume, ozone concentration, and other capabilities
Calibrate devices such as thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, temperature controllers, mass flow controllers, rotameters, gas meters, balances, pressure transducers, anemometers, pipettes, and ozone analyzers
Carry out laboratory activities to meet ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the laboratory Quality Manual, customer requirements, and external accreditation bodies
Perform work in permanent facilities, at off-site locations, temporary or mobile facilities, or at customer facilities as required
Ensure compliance with the most current version of ISO 17025 and laboratory quality procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, natural resources, or a related scientific discipline
3 years of experience
Experience in metrology and calibration laboratory activities
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and laboratory quality systems
Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously
Strong team player with ability to work independently and take initiative
Superior attention to detail and ability to meet stringent deadlines
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
