About the role

  • Lead the design and evolution of prescriptive solutions based on Linear Optimization (LP) and its extensions (MIP/CP), ensuring measurable impact (cost, SLA, service level, productivity).
  • Act as a technical reference in LP/MIP modeling: formulation, relaxations, sensitivity analysis, bottleneck identification and performance improvement.
  • Develop and optimize models using CPLEX (DOcplex/CPLEX), including strategies such as decomposition, warm start, formulation refinement and tuning.
  • Design and apply heuristics and metaheuristics (and hybrid heuristic+solver approaches) for large/complex problems and time-constrained scenarios.
  • Architect and operationalize solutions in Azure, ensuring reliability, traceability, observability and governance throughout the model lifecycle.
  • Lead discovery with stakeholders: problem understanding, KPI definition, experimental design and validation of generated value.
  • Mentor team members (mid-level/junior), raise quality standards (documentation, reproducibility, code review) and support technical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proven solid experience in Linear Optimization (LP) and demonstrated participation in relevant optimization projects, applying prescriptive models in production or for critical decisions.
  • Proficiency with CPLEX (preferably via DOcplex/CPLEX) and experience with LP/MIP, including performance and robustness considerations.
  • Strong Python skills and applied engineering for analytical products (architecture, automation, testing, version control).
  • Advanced experience with heuristics and metaheuristics, including designing hybrid solutions and managing trade-offs (optimality vs. time).
  • Experience with data and integration: SQL, data pipelines and execution/orchestration in Azure.
  • Ability to communicate and influence the business: driving prioritization, alignment and decision-making.
