About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work on abends/failures in the batch network: analysis, correction, release and reprocessing/restart.
Perform quick inspections of programs to identify root cause and execution parameters.
Implement changes to JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs (steps, DDs, parameters, datasets, conditionals, return codes).
Adjust and validate SYSINs (cards/execution parameter configurations).
Make changes and perform analyses on COBOL programs and JCLs following the change control process (when applicable).

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with Control‑M for Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart, troubleshooting).
Proficiency in JCL and SYSIN.
Experience in failure analysis and working in a TSO/ISPF environment.
Practical knowledge of batch processing: return codes/steps, datasets (e.g., GDG/VSAM as per client).
