About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work on abends/failures in the batch network: analysis, correction, release and reprocessing/restart.
- Perform quick inspections of programs to identify root cause and execution parameters.
- Implement changes to JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs (steps, DDs, parameters, datasets, conditionals, return codes).
- Adjust and validate SYSINs (cards/execution parameter configurations).
- Make changes and perform analyses on COBOL programs and JCLs following the change control process (when applicable).
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience with Control‑M for Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart, troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in JCL and SYSIN.
- Experience in failure analysis and working in a TSO/ISPF environment.
- Practical knowledge of batch processing: return codes/steps, datasets (e.g., GDG/VSAM as per client).
