About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Inspect, identify, and evaluate auto vehicles involved in a loss
  • Appraise and determine repair costs for damaged vehicles in the field
  • Determine repair versus replace decisions and parts utilization
  • Evaluate whether vehicles are repairable or salvageable using industry-standard estimatics software
  • Travel to inspection locations to appraise vehicles
  • Prepare estimates using estimatics software
  • Work directly with auto repair facilities on supplemental repair processing
  • Provide supplemental estimates
  • Travel as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Licenses as required by state guidelines
  • Three (3) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year of appraisal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Strong knowledge of automobiles
  • Ability to understand and utilize appraisal software
  • PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, reach/work overhead
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day
  • Continual use of manual dexterity
