Senior Forensic Structural Engineer
SedgwickSenior Forensic Structural Engineer conducting investigations and preparing detailed reports for asset damage in Australia. Role combines forensic and design engineering responsibilities with a focus on insurance claims.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
- Identifying design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation
- Collecting data using photographic equipment
- Accurate and detailed recording of data whilst on-site
- Preparation of detailed computations for the repair small to medium structures
- Delivering design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Providing construction-phase support on a wide array of projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 10 years’ industry experience, with experience as a forensic engineer ideal.
- Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering
- Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
- Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
- Interstate accreditations will be considered including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ)
- Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
- Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
