About the role
- Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
- Identifying design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation
- Collecting data using photographic equipment
- Accurate and detailed recording of data whilst on-site
- Preparation of detailed computations for the repair small to medium structures
- Delivering design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Providing construction-phase support on a wide array of projects.
Requirements
- Approx. 5 years’ industry experience
- Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering
- Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
- Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
- Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
