About the role
- Analyze and process Workers Compensation Lost-Time claims to an appropriate and timely resolution by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
- Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
- Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
- Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests of directions professionally and timely.
- Adjudicate complex customer claims in accordance with service expectations, industry best practices, and client-specific requirements.
- Leverage Sedgwick’s global network of experts and deliver client-facing solutions.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation and follow client service requirements.
Requirements
- 1 - 2 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
- Jurisdiction knowledge: MD.
- Licensing: not required.
- Ability to analyze Workers Compensation Lost-Time claims.
- Negotiation skills for settling claims within designated authority.
- Strong communication skills to interact with claimants and clients.
- Ability to report claims to excess carriers and respond to requests in a timely manner.
