About the role

  • Analyze and process Workers Compensation Lost-Time claims to an appropriate and timely resolution by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
  • Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
  • Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
  • Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests of directions professionally and timely.
  • Adjudicate complex customer claims in accordance with service expectations, industry best practices, and client-specific requirements.
  • Leverage Sedgwick’s global network of experts and deliver client-facing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and follow client service requirements.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
  • Jurisdiction knowledge: MD.
  • Licensing: not required.
  • Ability to analyze Workers Compensation Lost-Time claims.
  • Negotiation skills for settling claims within designated authority.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with claimants and clients.
  • Ability to report claims to excess carriers and respond to requests in a timely manner.
