About the role
- Build lab/test-bench environments for validation (network and security)
- Install firmware on firewalls, routers, and switches
- Configure physical interfaces on firewalls, routers, and switches
- Configure logical interfaces on firewalls, routers, and switches
- Configure static and dynamic routing – Advanced (OSPF/BGP)
- Configure VLANs on routers and switches
- Configure VLANs on NGFWs (Next-Generation Firewalls)
- Create security profiles on firewalls and web filters
- Configure firewall policies
- Configure HA on firewalls and switches
- Configure uplinks, LAGs, and STP/RSTP
- Implement Layer 2 protections (BPDU Guard, STP Guard, etc.)
- Perform firewall policy hygiene/cleanup
- Develop firewall templates
- Work in high-complexity network and security environments (Data Centers and Distributed Networks)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience implementing and supporting client network (switches, routers, and APs) and security (firewalls) environments, including routing and switching; Data Center migrations, distributed environments, VPN concentrators, load balancers, and wireless site surveys
- Experience producing client-facing documentation such as network topologies and licensing
- Preferred: Fortinet and/or Cisco certifications or similar in security/networking
- Preferred experience working in mission-critical environments, preparing runbooks/books, proposing improvements to clients, and participating in war rooms
