About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in interviewing, selecting, training, planning, assigning, and directing work/caseloads for employees
- Review client charts for BHO, DBHR, and The Joint Commission compliance
- Provide individual and group supervision to mental health, substance abuse, chemical dependency, peer specialist, case management, and other program staff
- Review and approve therapists’ clinical documentation and electronic progress notes in Cerner
- Collaborate with the Manager on service hours, productivity, caseload distribution, quality improvement reports, and data accuracy
- Conduct weekly file reviews and implement corrective actions
- Maintain relationships with BHO and referral agencies and market the program to community organizations
- Ensure HIPAA, 42 CFR Part II, 45 CFR 154-528, WAC, county, state, and Sea Mar requirements are followed
- Ensure delivery of chemical dependency and mental health services required by contracts and community needs
- Support clinical operations and report findings to the Program Manager and Regional Director
- Participate in management and staff meetings and assist with inter-agency referrals
- Assist with hiring Behavioral Health Program positions
- Provide outpatient evaluations, assessments, psychotherapy, home visits, and client follow-up
- Consult with professionals and agencies on evaluations, treatment plans, and follow-up
- Prepare timely consumer records and provide community education
- Ensure clinical staff maintain current documentation and meet The Joint Commission standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in the Social Science or Social Service field
- At least five (5) years’ experience in the field, including some administrative experience
- Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
- Licensed status preferred (LMHC, CDP, LMFT, LICSW)
- If not licensed, must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or mental health Associate License, or be a CDP/T
- Agency Affiliated Counselor License may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment
- Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering patient-related information
- Must receive a DSHS and Washington State Patrol background check
- Must comply with Sea Mar and DOH ethical standards
- No history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for three years immediately prior to employment, and no misuse while employed
- Must complete an annual clinical competency test as a mental health therapist and chemical dependency professional/trainee
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification; if inactive at hire, obtain within 90 days
- Must have and maintain active First Aid certification
- Must take a TB test annually and at time of hire
- Knowledge and experience working with Latinos, migrant and seasonal farm workers, and homeless individuals preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees
- Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense and deal with problems involving several concrete variables
