About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions.
- Support recruiting efforts, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, preparing offers, and coordinating onboarding.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee inquiries.
- Coordinate leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, paid family leave, and other applicable leave programs.
- Partner with managers to address employee relations concerns, performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Process employee status changes, compensation updates, promotions, and terminations.
- Assist with payroll changes and partner with Payroll to ensure accurate processing.
- Draft HR communications, policies, employment letters, and other documentation.
- Support performance review and merit increase processes.
- Assist with immigration, relocation, and onboarding documentation as needed.
- Coordinate compliance training and maintain training records.
- Monitor compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with annual HR initiatives including Open Enrollment, compensation reviews, compliance reporting, and employee engagement activities.
- Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics.
- Participate in special projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, leave management, and HR operations.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, COBRA, and other employment-related regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and independently researching and resolving issues with minimal direction.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and onboarding platforms (ClearCompany experience preferred).
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
