About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the laboratory with intake of specimens and administrative duties
- Adhere to and support our culture of compliance and safety by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Receive laboratory specimen from courier
- Review specimen for proper labeling and acceptability
- Resolve specimen labeling discrepancies according to SOP
- Sort specimen into cases to be processed in house and cases to be sent to other laboratories
- Pre-accession and accession all specimen
- Transport specimens and other materials between suites in a HIPAA compliant and safe manner
- Enter grossing information received from Grossing Technician into LIS
- Prepare cases to be sent to reference laboratories
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Adhere to all company and laboratory specific SOPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED minimum required; Associate Degree preferred
- Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Six months experience in a similar role.
