About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the laboratory with intake of specimens and administrative duties
  • Adhere to and support our culture of compliance and safety by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Receive laboratory specimen from courier
  • Review specimen for proper labeling and acceptability
  • Resolve specimen labeling discrepancies according to SOP
  • Sort specimen into cases to be processed in house and cases to be sent to other laboratories
  • Pre-accession and accession all specimen
  • Transport specimens and other materials between suites in a HIPAA compliant and safe manner
  • Enter grossing information received from Grossing Technician into LIS
  • Prepare cases to be sent to reference laboratories
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment
  • Adhere to all company and laboratory specific SOPs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum required; Associate Degree preferred
  • Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Six months experience in a similar role.
