About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the laboratory with intake of specimens and administrative duties
Adhere to and support our culture of compliance and safety by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Receive laboratory specimen from courier
Review specimen for proper labeling and acceptability
Resolve specimen labeling discrepancies according to SOP
Sort specimen into cases to be processed in house and cases to be sent to other laboratories
Pre-accession and accession all specimen
Transport specimens and other materials between suites in a HIPAA compliant and safe manner
Enter grossing information received from Grossing Technician into LIS
Prepare cases to be sent to reference laboratories
Maintain a safe, clean work environment
Adhere to all company and laboratory specific SOPs

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma/GED minimum required; Associate Degree preferred
Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Six months experience in a similar role.
