General Manager – Music School
School of RockGeneral Manager at School of Rock overseeing music school operations and maximizing student engagement. Responsible for financial performance and leading a team in a creative educational environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide an exceptional experience for students and parents, delivering strong engagement and maximizing student enrollment
- Oversee and guide a team of instructional and administrative staff to cultivate a collaborative and supportive work environment while delivering a high quality educational experience
- Manage the school’s Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, including data analysis, budget tracking, and cost control to enhance financial performance
- Manage the creation of high-quality events to foster a sense of community, motivate students, and ensure their continued participation
- Provide top-quality customer service, including billing, schedule management, and clear and timely communication
- Be a Brand Ambassador. Build relationships in the local community, networking with local businesses, service organizations, and other educational institutions, to increase visibility, create performance opportunities, and drive the business
- Hire and onboard staff members. This includes recruiting and training to ensure they are successful in their roles and contribute to the success of the school
- Promote Diversity and Inclusion to create a welcoming and respectful environment for all individuals
- Deliver results through the management of educational and business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Manage the marketing, sales, and promotions to drive school and student success
- Manage staff and school facilities to ensure a safe experience for all students. This includes maintaining staff compliance with safety standards and following protocols
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years work experience in management, sales, marketing, or customer service-related role
- Experience reviewing and managing a P&L or budget
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong experience recruiting and managing staff
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven problem-solving skills
- A collaborator who works well across diverse populations
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Experience and interest in working with children
- Passion and/or interest in music and the arts
- Entrepreneurial spirit and drive to grow a small business
