About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide assessment and treatment of patients and quality, professional nursing care
  • Assist medical providers with medical procedures and diagnostic result processing
  • Perform nursing procedures, including therapeutic phlebotomies and allergy injections
  • Administer medications by all routes and educate patients about medication therapy
  • Triage and screen telephone calls related to patient care
  • Assess patients and implement appropriate care using critical thinking, protocols, and standing orders
  • Perform delegated medical acts and supervise LPNs and unlicensed personnel as needed
  • Respond to life-threatening situations and participate in emergency standing orders
  • Manage patient flow and perform patient rooming workflows
  • Collect laboratory samples
  • Schedule referrals and outpatient diagnostic procedures, including patient preparation and prior authorizations
  • Establish working relationships and provide patient education, family counseling, and public information
  • Mentor new staff and ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Lead and participate in site process and policy improvement teams
  • Cross-train and staff other clinics as needed
  • Assist with developing and implementing policies, protocols, standing orders, and quality assurance standards
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • No experience required
  • Current Wisconsin state or multistate Registered Nurse license required, or eligibility for state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 3 months from date in position
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday between 7:30am and 5:30pm
  • Ability to cross-train and staff other clinics as needed
