About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Acting as senior lead on client accounts by drafting and executing strategic communications plans, with a focus on strategy, creative thinking and results based outcomes.
Overseeing the execution of client deliverables, including timelines, resource coordination, and budgets.
Leading project teams and acting as a role model and mentor to junior team members.
Cultivating strong relationships with health system clients, including digital health companies, med tech, hospitals, long-term care providers, Associations, and home care organizations.
Building trust and credibility with clients through proactive problem-solving, accountability and high-quality deliverables.
Providing strategic communications counsel in areas such as media relations, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications and crisis management.
Leading new business development activities, including proposal writing and pitches.
Flagging risks and opportunities for the senior management team, and utilizing data-driven insights to develop recommendations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 to 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
Consulting or agency experience.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
Proven success at developing and managing communications strategies across multiple channels.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, clients, and stakeholders while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong understanding of the Canadian health care system and emerging healthcare trends, and experience working with hospitals, long-term care homes, or home care organizations.
Strong people and project management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
Exceptional communication abilities, capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, concise, messaging for diverse stakeholders across multiple channels.
Exceptional organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple clients and projects and competing deadlines on a daily basis.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (including G-Suite proficiency).
A strong bias for action; eager to champion new programs, processes, or technologies, such as leveraging AI tools to enhance workflows, to move the practice forward.
Strong prioritization, time management, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly on complex and sensitive issues.
Ability to independently drive client projects forward while proactively identifying and addressing needs.
Professionalism and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
