About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Temporary/Full-time position with flexible hours given the job requires two evenings per month and some weekends
Collaboratively participate in Revenue and Reimbursement Department professional coding activity
Review and attend to assigned tasks using Hospital patient health information system work queues
Ensure coding accuracy by adhering to medical coding conventions and guidelines
Analyze patient health information records to identify documentation deficiency
Maintain and apply current knowledge about coding systems and tools including Correct Coding Initiative edits, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS
Complete continuing education to maintain coding certification

Requirements

What you’ll need

Knowledge of principles that relate to the position
Possession of current certification in coding issued by the American Academy of Professional Coders or the American Health Information Management Association
Aptitude in verbal and written communication
Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
Possession of a driver’s license or analogous identification
Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and educational in-service
